By Integrating the technology of "switchable" glass into a hollow metal sidelite unit, Ceco Door has developed the new Privacy SideLite Unit product line. The unit facilitates two distinct aesthetical states, normal clear glass vision and opaque glass. In the opaque state, the unit creates required privacy by blocking vision into the room.

As an added feature, the option of adding electrical locking hardware to the door creates a Privacy/Security functionality that can also be controlled by a single switch. Utilizing a fail-secure electrical lock, the unit can go from unlocked and clear glass to locked with opaque glass instantaneously with one flip of a switch. The unit can be stand alone, or set up in Parallel allowing multiple openings to be converted to privacy mode with one switch action.

The application potential for this product includes; Law Offices, Post Offices, Banks, HealthCare Facilities, Schools & Universities and Office Conference Rooms.

At the request of contractors and facility owners, the Security Sidelite Unit was developed to provide additional security measures where sidelite units are needed. By having an operable hollow metal panel that closes over the glass portion of the unit, a strong barrier is created for use in the event of an emergency. Additionally, it serves as a visual cue that the area has extra protection.

The units are available as a welded frame assembly and can be prepared for most hardware
preparations to fit your specific project needs. The operable panel should be supplied with a self-latching deadbolt without inside trim.
